people I wish I talked to more bc they’re awesome:

twitter people:
THE MOON
LITERALLY THE MOON
moon phase

once i told someone i was really sad and they were like “kids in africa are starving, your life isn’t so bad” (fair dos that is true but that didn’t negate the fact that i was really sad) so i said that telling someone they can’t be sad because other people have it worse is like telling someone that they can’t be happy because someone has a life that’s better than theirs, like they have a yacht or something

and they just said “but i don’t want a yacht”

Teen scientist harnesses sun power to help Navajo community

New Mexico teen Raquel Redshirt uses everyday materials and the sun to build solar ovens, fulfilling a Navajo community need and winning an award at the Intel ISEF competition.

Growing up on New Mexico’s Navajo Nation, Raquel Redshirt was well aware of the needs of her community. Many of her impoverished neighbors lacked basics such as electricity, as well as stoves and ovens to cook food.

Though resources in the high desert are limited, Raquel realized one was inexhaustible: the sun. “That’s where I got the idea of building a solar oven,” the teen says.

She researched solar ovens and found that most incorporate mirrors or other expensive materials. Raquel wanted to create a design that anyone could easily afford and replicate, using readily available materials.

there’s a point in the nerd HQ panel where tmas goes to say ‘all these other women’ in reference to the clones and then catches herself and says ‘all these other characters’ so as not to exclude tony. I love this woman a whole damn lot.

I love [that] the fans use the show as a canvas onto which they paint the stories that mean the most to them

if i ever misgender you or use slang (bro, man, gurl, dude) that makes you feel even slightly uncomfortable please tell me because your gender identity and comfort is more important than any word i may use to refer to you

HIV Has Been Cured in a Child for the First Time

HIV Cure: New Drug ‘Vacc-4x’ May Become First Functional Cure Against the Virus

The Man Who Had HIV and Now Does Not

This is HUGE news, and of course no one is talking about it because it is not a part of popular culture. For the first time in the history of the world, there is a possible preventative cure for one of the most deadliest viral diseases to have entered the human gene pool. There is hope for those who have been diagnosed with a disease that may have given them only 20 or so years to live. This breakthrough in the science/pharmaceutical community means that other viral diseases and genetic mutations that were once incurable are now on the table for complete eradication. I’m absolutely seething that no one is talking about this on the news 24/7.

and while this is hella important, herpes is getting complex to the point there is no cure or no way to work with it.

I really need both of these to go viral.

!!!! THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT !!!!
